- 6-12 Chicken Wings (Per Person.)
- 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil or Bacon Grease
- 1 Paper Bag
- Your Favorite Seasoning
- 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 1/2 cup Vinegar
- 1/4 cup Water
- 1 cup Barbecue Sauce
Depending on how many you are going to cook, select the right size Dutch oven. If you are doing it inside select the right size burner, so that the dutch oven will sit on the outside of the burner on its three legs.
Take the Paper bag, put in the flour and the seasoning. Then add the chicken wings a few at a time and shake them in the bag so the seasoned flour well cover them. With a set of tongs, remove chicken from the sack and shake off the excess flour. Repeat until all wings are floured.
Heat the Dutch oven on medium high, add bacon grease or vegetable oil. When hot, brown all wings, one layer at a time until all are brown. You can pile them on one side of the oven or use a separate oven to keep them warm on a separate burner.
When the wings are all brown, put them in the dutch oven in layers. Be sure that there is 1/4" of oil on the bottom of the oven to insure the sauce not burning. Pour the special sauce
(recipe below) over them.
INDOORS:Put the Dutch oven in the oven with the lid on and bake at 300 degrees for 45 minutes or until tender to the fork. Try not to over cook them or they will fall apart. They still taste great , but are hard to pick up.
OUTDOORS: Be sure to have most of your heat on the top. Also, be sure to stir the wings approximately every 10 minutes to ensure even cooking.
NOTE: Chicken nuggets can be used in place of the wings.
Blend all together in a large cup or bowl to pour over wings after they are browned and before they go into the oven. If you like them hot Add 2 Tbsp. Tabasco Sauce.
